Another favorite of mine, this was done without the
use of a computer. (It was 1989. What would I have used - a Commodore
64?) Brenda sewed a giant stocking, and let the whole family take
turns posing in it. (When we had our second son Chris, Ralph paid
us back by going out and getting a second dog, Lucky.) Brenda
actually held the stocking up in the air for each shot, so that
it would have the correct "hanging" look to it. I printed
the best shot of each subject about 8" tall, cut them out
and colored the edges of the photographs with magic markers so
that no white edges would show. I built a short mantel onto the
back of the chimney that I'd used the year before, and nailed
the stocking photos to the mantel. Then I simply re-shot the scene.
